Consultancy to Provide Auditing Services

To ensure transparency, accountability and effective use of resources, Hakijamii is seeking a qualified auditing firm to conduct an independent audit of our financial statements for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024. This audit will be crucial in providing stakeholders with guarantee regarding the organization’s financial management and reporting practices.

Objective

The objective of this consultancy is to conduct a thorough, objective audit of Hakijamii’s financial statements, ensuring compliance with national accounting standards, donor requirement and international best practices in financial reporting and accountability.

Scope of Work

• Conduct an audit of Hakijamii’s financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Verify that financial records align with organizational policies, donor agreements, and statutory obligations.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of Hakijamii’s internal controls, identifying potential risks and providing recommendations for improvements.
• Provide a comprehensive audit report, including a management letter detailing findings, observations and recommendations to enhance financial management and control.
• Present the audit findings and recommendations to Hakijamii’s Board of Directors, answering any questions and providing clarifications as needed.

Expected Deliverables

• A complete report on the audit of financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2024.
• A letter detailing observations, risk assessment and recommended improvements.
• A presentation summarizing audit findings, delivered to Hakijamii’s Board.

Qualifications

• Certified audit firm with a valid license from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
• Demonstrated experience in auditing NGOs or similar organizations.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS, ISA and relevant regulatory requirements for NGOs in Kenya.
• At least five years of experience in auditing services with a strong reputation for integrity and thoroughness.

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to conduct audits in line with national and international standards.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to present findings clearly and constructively to diverse stakeholders.

Technical Proposal: – Outline of qualifications, understanding of the assignment, proposed methodology and a detailed work plan.
Financial Proposal: – A comprehensive budget in KES, covering all costs associated with the audit, including professional fees and any other relevant expenses.
