Fredrick Odhiambo
Fredrick is a Licenced Public Health Practitioner with over 7 years of experience in health governance, humanitarian initiatives, and NGO Programming with 5 years dedicated to Program Management and Coordination. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Meru University of Science and Technology.
Additionally, he holds certificates in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Emergencies from Meru University of science and technology, Human Sexuality Counselling from Kenya Institute of professional Counsellors, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) from Norwegian Training and Research Institute and Grow Biointensive Sustainable mini-farming from Ecology Action.
Fredrick’s career is marked by a strong commitment to improving public health governance and service delivery, having coordinated and managed several projects/programs particularly in the areas of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH); Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR); Mental health; Climate Change and Health; Sustainable Livelihoods; Social Emotional Learning (SEL); Maternal and child health (MCH); Public health financing and Human rights.
As a program coordinator with extensive experience working in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) and informal settlements, he has collaborated with the county and national government stakeholders to champion good governance in health, agriculture, and gender. He has led multi-stakeholder initiatives that promote equitable access to essential services and empower marginalized communities. His work has consistently driven impactful changes in policy and practice, especially within vulnerable regions. Fredrick’s diverse expertise in program planning, execution, and evaluation, combined with his dedication to resource mobilization has made him a resourceful team member at Hakijamii, recognized for his role in advancing health rights for sustainable communities.
Fredrick has also served as a part-time lecturer at Meru Institute of Business Studies (MIBs College), where he trained community health and social work students on key areas such as reproductive health, maternal and child health, disaster management, and the intersection of climate change and health.

Fredrick leads initiatives focused on promoting the right to health, water, and sanitation through capacity building, policy monitoring, and advocacy in Kenya. His role involves identifying opportunities to support these rights, developing innovating strategies for effective advocacy, and collaborating with community groups, stakeholders, and partners to implement programs. Fredrick also develops work plans, and pursue funding opportunities. In addition, he provides training, participates in policy reviews, advocates for policy reforms, and monitor project outcomes, especially in underserved informal settlements and ASAL counties, to enhance access to health and sanitation for marginalized communities in Kenya.
